About DV Howlies

We are a small kennel in Central Texas. We are located in Paige, about 45 minutes east of Austin, 2 hours west of Houston, 2 hours north of San Antonio. Our puppies are all over Texas, with a few in other states like California, New York, and Alaska. We offer shipping but prefer to have you come to us so you can meet the parents, see how the puppies are raised, and meet the owner Diego in person.
The owner of DV Howlies, Diego, is a 31 year old Navy Veteran. DV stands for Diego Valdes, or Disabled Veteran, or Dysfunctional Veteran! Howlies refers to a Marvel comic book team, the Howling Commandos.
Diego's first German Shepherd, Rhydian, is his best friend and retired service dog and the reason he became a breeder. Rhydian got arthritis relatively young, we have been handling it with medication (especially CBD oil) but it has been difficult. Rhydian is a backyard bred dog, originally found wandering the streets of Bakersfield, California at 6 weeks old. Early onset arthritis is an example of what bad breeding can do to a dog. Diego decided to breed health tested German Shepherds to honor Rhydian.
